Adv Herman Steyn (mediator and arbitrator)
Adv Steyn was born in Keetmanshoop, Namibia, and matriculated at the PK de Villiers. He obtained his B.Com and LLB degrees at the Rand Afrikaans University in 1976 and 1980, respectively. He was admitted as an attorney in South African and practised as such for some 4 years in Randburg. He was thereafter admitted as an advocate in South Africa, and has been practising as such for some 25 years at the Johannesburg Bar in mainly general commercial litigation. He obtained the LLM degree in Banking and Stock Exchange law in 2008 at the University of Johannesburg.

Mr Johan Van Vuuren (mediator)
Mr Van Vuuren was born in Grootfontein, Namibia, and matriculated at Outjo Secondary School in 1981. He obtained the BProc degree by studying part time at the University of the Free State in 1989. He was admitted as an attorney in the High Court of South Africa in 1990, and as a legal practitioner of the High Court of Namibia in 1992. He is a partner of Krüger, Van Vuuren & Co since March 2004.
Mr Van Vuuren has extensive experience in general civil and criminal court litigation.
Mr Van Vuuren is a popular court-connected mediator and is presiding regularly as mediator in many cases at a success rate of 78%.

Adv Reinhard Tötemeyer SC (arbitrator)
Adv Tötemeyer obtained his B.Comm (Law) at Stellenbosch University in 1984 and his LLB at the same university in 1986. After his admission as an attorney of the Supreme Court of Namibia in 1989 he practised as an attorney for 3 years.
He has since his admission as an advocate of the High Court of Namibia in 1992 been practising as such as a member of both the Law Society of Namibia and the Society of Advocates of Namibia in Windhoek to date.
Adv Tötemeyer has extensive experience in court litigation concerning mainly general commercial and administrative law disputes.
In addition, he has considerable experience in national and international arbitrations.

Mr Stephen Kenny (arbitrator)
Mr Kenny commenced his professional career as a public prosecutor in 1989 at Swakopmund and in 1991 he was appointed as Regional Court Prosecutor in Worcester RSA. Mr Kenny was admitted as an advocate of the High Court of Namibia in 1991. Mr Kenny served as Additional Magistrate for the district of Walvis Bay in 1992 and 1993.
Mr Kenny enrolled as candidate attorney with Kinghorn & Associates in Swakopmund in 1994 and completed his articles with Theunissen, Van Wyk and Partners in Windhoek and was enrolled as a legal practitioner of the High Court of Namibia in 1996.
Mr Kenny commenced practising civil litigation in the Magistrates’ Court and High Court in Namibia in Walvis Bay with Gert Olivier Legal Practitioners in 1998. In 2006 he relocated to Windhoek in which year he was appointed a Notary Public in Namibia. Since 2007 Mr Kenny has been attending mainly to civil court litigation in the High Court of Namibia representing clients in court in disputes covering a brought spectrum of fields, including estates, family law, general commercial issues, and matrimonial matters. Mr Kenny is currently an Associate at Theunissen, Louw and Partners in Windhoek.
Mr Kenny is the current Independent Chairperson of the Conflict Committee of the Namibian Procurement Fund which appointment is for 2 years, and from time to time act as a party representative in arbitration matters.

Ms Ilse Agenbach (mediator)
Ms Agebach obtained her BA and LLB at the University of Stellenbosch in 1983 and 1986 respectively.
She was admitted as an attorney of the Supreme Court of South West Africa in 1989, enrolled to practise as an attorney of the Supreme Court of South Africa in 1990, and appointed as notary in Namibia in 1997.
Ms Agenbach is a member of the Law Society of Namibia, accredited mediator of the High Court of Namibia, and a trained mediator of the Association of Family Mediators of the Cape.
Ms Agenbach completed her articles in 1988 after which she has been practising as legal practitioner in Windhoek. She has been practising for her own account under the name and style of Agenbach Legal Practitioners & Mediators since 2002. She has extensive experience as legal practitioner representing clients in the Magistrates’ Court and the High Court mainly in civil litigation covering issues relating to international and constitutional law, family, matrimonial property and divorce law, labour law, customary law, administrative law, mining law, and commercial and corporate law. She gained experience in the arbitration of sport disputes whilst vice-president of the Namibian Gymnastic Union. She represented some of the accused in the well-documented Namibian treason trial.

Adv Andrew Corbett SC (mediator & arbitrator)
Adv Corbett was an article clerk and attorney at Mallinick, Ress, Richman and Closenberg Inc in Cape Town from 1986 to June 1988. From June 1988 he joined the Legal Assistance Centre in Windhoek specialising in labour and human rights work, which he served as director from August 1992 to December 1999. From January to March 2000 he was a consultant to the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Rural Development. Since April 2000 Adv Corbett has been practising at the Windhoek Bar covering legal advice and litigation in commercial contracts, mining, environmental law, administrative law, human rights, constitutional law, property law, labour law and customary law. He took silk in 2013, and has been acting as mediator and arbitrator since 2015.

Mr Gerard van Wijk (mediator & arbitrator)
Mr Van Wijk obtained his BA in 1988, and his LLB in 1991, at the University of Stellenbosch. He was admitted as a legal practitioner of the High Court of Namibia on 15 October 1993. Mr Van Wijk was a candidate legal practitioner from 1 January 1992 to 15 October 1993, and a professional assistant from 15 October 1993 to 1 March 1995, at PF Koep & Company. He has been practising as legal practitioner and partner at Malherbe Associates Inc. (previously D. F Malherbe & Partners), in Walvis Bay since 2 March 1995 and has been the Partner and Director responsible for their litigation department. On 9 March 2015 Mr Van Wijk became a court accredited mediator of the High Court of Namibia and has in such capacity acted as a mediator in various High Court litigation matters. Mr Van Wijk has also presided as chairperson in various disciplinary inquiries and appeals. He furthermore has experience as a legal practitioner representing and/or advising clients in the following fields: commercial law, administrative law, company law, constitutional law, construction and engineering, defamation, delict, family law, fisheries, franchise, national and local government, insolvency, insurance, international trade, labour, matrimonial, motor vehicles, para-statals, property, and unlawful competition.

Mr Kobus Miller (mediator & arbitrator)
Mr Miller obtained his BA in law at the University of Potchefstroom in 1969, and his LLB at the University of Natal in 1978. Since 1968 Mr Miller has been a prosecutor and magistrate, practised as an advocate at the Natal Bar and the Namibian Bar, practised as an attorney with MaCauly and Riddell in Ladysmith, Natal, and Conradie & Damaseb in Windhoek. In 1990 Mr Miller was admitted as an advocate of the High Court of Namibia. Mr Miller was an Acting Judge of the High Court of Namibia from 2011 to 31 March 2017. Mr Miller has experience in company law as company secretary for Trustco Group Holdings Ltd, building disputes, banking law, insurance law, the law of intellectual property, labour law, matrimonial law, medical malpractice, parastatals, personal injury cases, property law, stock exchange, trademarks, trusts, unlawful competition and the law relating to water, mines, and minerals.

Adv Marius Boonzaier
Adv Marius Boonzaier (arbitrator)
Adv. Boonzaier was born in Durban, South Africa and matriculated at the Agriculture High School Kuschke in Polokwane (Pietersburg). He obtained his LLB degree at the University of Pretoria in 2006. He was admitted as an advocate in South Africa and commenced practice at the Pretoria Bar in January 2008 whereafter he joined the Government Attorney’s Office in Windhoek in May 2012. He currently practices as an advocate and is a member of the Society of Advocates of Namibia since August 2018.

Mr Axel Dainat
Mr Axel Dainat (mediator)
Mr Axel Dainat commenced his professional career as qualified architect in 1995 at the practice Paul Behrens and Associates Architects in Windhoek after having completed his BSC Arch at the University of Port Elizabeth in South Africa.
In 1996, he was admitted as registered architect with the Namibian Council for Architects and Quantity Surveyors (NCAQS) and served on the board of the Namibian Institute for Architects (NIA) during this time.
In 1997, Mr Axel Dainat opened his own architectural practice in Windhoek. Enjoying a reputation of being a dedicated and experienced architect with a passion for creating innovative and sustainable designs, skilled in project management, building codes, and construction techniques. Mr Riaan de Witt
Mr Riaan de Witt (arbitrator)
Riaan de Witt is a qualified roads engineer with a master’s degree in Transportation Engineering. He has a total of 25 years’ work experience as a professional engineer in the design, administration and project management of roads and other civil infrastructure projects.
For the year 2004 he was the President of the Association of Consulting Engineers of Namibia (ACEN) and sat on the Engineering Council of Namibia. He was also the chairperson of the Registration Committee for Professional Engineers. He has moved from Consulting Engineering to focus on Dispute Resolutions, Strategic Planning and Project Management. With in-depth experience in construction he obtained a certificate in Arbitration as well as a certificate in Specialization in Construction Law. He also attended various FIDIC, Claims as well as Adjudication and other Dispute Resolution courses.
He is registered as a Senior Adjudicator in Namibia and a fellow of the Association of Arbitrators of Southern Africa as well as a member of the Institute of Arbitrators of Botswana. He sits on various Dispute Boards with the emphasis on Dispute Avoidance. He is currently a member of a three-man sitting Dispute Board (FIDIC Pink Book 2006) on two Railway projects in Namibia.
He is also a one-man DAAB (FIDIC Silver Book 2017) on the Omburo 20MW Photovoltaic (PV) Power Plant near Omaruru in Namibia. He was appointed as Ad Hoc Adjudicator on more than 20 projects in Namibia over the last 10 years.

Ms Cecilia Flores Rueda
Ms Cecilia Flores Rueda (mediator and arbitrator)
After several years as arbitration and litigation counsel, including her role as partner of the arbitration practice at leading international and local firms, Cecilia Flores Rueda established FloresRueda Abogados in 2015, a dispute resolution boutique.
Cecilia acts in arbitration as both party representative and as arbitrator, and focuses her practice on issues related to energy, infrastructure projects, construction, trust, joint ventures, transportation and logistics, insurance and reinsurance, cases involving governmental entities, amongst many others.
She graduated, with honors, from Universidad Panamericana, where she also completed postgraduate studies on international commercial law. She obtained her master’s degree, with honors, at the Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey and an Energy Diploma at National University in Mexico (IIJ-UNAM).
Regarding the academia, Cecilia has been professor of arbitration for more than 20 years at the master’s degree of LaSalle University and in the Diploma Course on Arbitration offered by the ICC and Escuela Libre de Derecho.
